Chatuchak Weekend Market - Largest Market in Bangkok, Thailand

Chatuchak Weekend Market or Jatujak Weekend Market (J.J. Market) is the largest market in Bangkok, Thailand covers over 35 acres (1.13 km2), It contains upwards of 15,000 booths, altogether divided into 27 sections  selling goods from every part of Thailand.

Most booths only open on Saturdays and Sundays, has over 200,000 visitors each day come to shopping. The market offers a wide variety of products at a bargaining local price including household items, clothing, Thai handicrafts, religious artifacts, collectibles, books, foods, live animals and etc. For tourists, there are a number of onsite companies who will send purchases abroad.


Note: In June 2008, the Chatuchak Market authorities introduced a complete smoking ban for the whole market, with a fine of 2,000 baht for offenders.

- MRT Bangkok Metro (Blue Line) at Kamphaengphet station and Suan Chatuchak (Chatuchak Park) station
- BTS Skytrain (Sukhumvit Line) at Mo Chit station, about a 5-minute walk to Chatuchak Weekend Market
